The Clinical Director of Brain Injury Residential Services is responsible for the successful administration and management of the clinical operations of the Brain Injury Residential Service line. This includes the clinical oversight of all the individuals that receive support services.  The Clinical Director is responsible for providing supervision for Clinical staff working in Brain Injury Residential Services and provide training and on-going consultation to direct service staff who work with members receiving services.

1. Develop strong working relationships with adults with diverse ABIs and their family members and guide residential programs in developing therapeutic and supportive living environments, that are responsive to individual’s personal and recovery goals and preferences.
2. Conduct assessments at time of intake and level of service changes and provide recommendations on intervention strategies needed to support members in residential services.
3. Provide ABI-relevant staff training around appropriate interventions for working with members, their families or community providers.
4. Manage and streamline clinical processes and requirements in consultation with affiliated senior managers or designees including but not limited to Quality and Risk Management, Fiscal, Human Resources, Information Services, Housing, and Maintenance functions.
5. Act as a liaison between Brain Injury Services, DDS, other service providers and community resources. Related responsibilities may include making recommendations in emergency psychiatric situations and assisting the residential program in accessing relevant community mental health and substance abuse treatment resources.
6. Attend and participate in Brain Injury Service line leadership, clinical and risk meetings.
7. Participate in development and planning of on-going Agency-wide Risk Management and Quality Management initiatives.
8. Participate in the coordination and oversite of all referrals to Brain Injury Services.
9. Provide supervision and professional development support to Clinical staff assigned to Brain Injury Residential Services.
10. Maintain constructive and productive internal and external communications with staff, program managers and directors, providers, vendors, and funding sources.
11. Ensure that the clinical integrity of member programs and residential support services are maintained, through development and updating of clinical support plans (individualized- targeted behavior support plans) and clinical risk management plans.
12. Attends and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings at the residential programs.
13. Attend assigned trainings; maintain necessary certifications and licenses (CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, and Professional Clinical Licensure).
14. Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights policy and the Advocates Way philosophy.
15. Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.

1. Master’s degree (M.A.) in social work, mental health counseling, rehabilitation counseling or other related field and 8-10 years’ experience, some of which must have been working with people with acquired brain injuries and related support needs (e.g. substance use disorder and relevant assessments, neuropsychiatric/neurobehavioral disorders, medical complexity). 
2. Five years clinical supervisory experience.
3. Preference for professionals who have achieved ABI service certification (e.g. Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS/T), Qualified Brain Injury Professional (QBISP), or related credential. In addition, preference for someone with training or experience in community-based rehabilitation, positive behavioral interventions and support (PBIS), trauma-informed care, person-centered, and/or family focused models of care for adults with an ABI.
4. Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
5. Strong Microsoft Office knowledge.
6. Excellent written skills and ability to communicate effectively in the primary language of the program/programs to which assigned. 
7. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
8. Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
9. Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
10. Must hold a valid drivers’ license.  Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients and travel to community residential programs.
11. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
