Overview

Advocates is seeking energetic, compassionate and level-headed professionals to coordinate care and support for individuals who contact our Crisis Hotline.

The BA Level Clinician will develop and implement a system for triaging requests for service, in collaboration with the team to determine the most appropriate response to individuals in crisis, and assist clients by helping them identify and access resources for treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe, secure, helpful approach to clients who are in need of immediate emotional or psychiatric support.
  • Determine the most appropriate response to clients in crisis in collaboration with the team.
  • Provide clients with information on treatment and referral services.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of managed care and health insurance systems; provide other clinicians with managed care information and resources pertinent to the crises being managed.
  • Provide shift reports/documentation to other team members, regarding pending cases, requests for service, etc.
  • Maintain necessary documentation, statistics, clinical records, medical records requests, and releases of information.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the internal billing procedures and managed care requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two years’ experience in mental health or emergency services environment.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to an operational and insured vehicle.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with clients, employees and providers.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including strong documentation.
  • Enthusiastic, committed, solutions-based approach and a welcoming demeanor.
  • Exemplary reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Desire to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
