The Senior Behavior Management Therapist will provide mobile, community based behavioral services to children and their families. In this role, providers will complete a Functional Behavioral Assessment, work with the family to come up with a Behavior Action Plan, and then support the caregiver(s) in implementing the plan through modeling, coaching, and problem solving.The Senior Behavior Management Therapist will be a leader on the CBHI Team, and will hold additional responsibilities in support of colleagues and the functioning of the team as a whole.

  • Develop a written functional behavioral assessment based on observations of youth and structured interviews with youth, family, and collaterals.
  • Develop a focused behavior management treatment plan that identifies specific behavioral and measurable goals, objectives, and interventions.
  • Provide modeling for caregivers on how to implement strategies identified in the behavior management plan.
  • Partner with the behavior management monitor to ensure that behavior management plan and safety plan are implemented as developed, and to make as needed adjustments.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of the youth’s progress on implementing the goals of treatment plan.
  • Collaborate with existing Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) providers and other collaterals and deliver services in accordance with youth’s plan of care.

The Senior Behavior Management Therapist will assist in supporting the team in a variety of ways, which may include some of the following:

  • Provide individual supervision to other staff.
  • Lead group supervision or other groups.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate staff trainings.
  • Assist with outreach to families waiting for services.
  • Assist with new staff training and orientation, including mentorship, training, and ad hoc support.


  • Master’s degree in field related to Behavior Analysis; or a psychologist licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Psychology.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred but not required!
  • Two years’ experience performing functional behavioral assessments and implementing and evaluating intervention strategies.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with employees and providers.
  • High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
  • Commitment to Advocates values and mission.
  • Must hold a valid drivers’ license.  Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport members.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
