Starting Salary $60K

The Director of Best Practices is responsible for the creation and management of trainings within the Behavioral Health Residential Services.  They assess training needs and develop new trainings to meet these needs.

Responsibilities

  1. Enable evidenced based trainings for BH Residential Services
  2. Facilitate supervisory trainings as well as management trainings
  3. Maintain training calendar for BH Residential Services. Schedule and coordinate facilitators, locations, and topics for trainings
  4. Responsible for BH Residential Services New Hire Orientation
  5. Link persons served and staff of the BH Residential Services to training opportunities related to recovery and psychiatric rehabilitation.
  6. Serve as Senior Intentional Care trainer. Facilitate Intentional Care workshops at Advocates, local, regional, and national conferences; train persons served and peer specialists to become Intentional Care trainers; represent the organization with regards to Intentional Care for consultation from outside agencies.
  7. Serve as Principal Investigator for PCORI research project
  8. Facilitate Diversity Appreciation and Safety Care trainings
  9. Support the Open Dialogue monthly consultation meeting
  10. Mentor staff to become trainers
  11. Write and facilitate workshop proposals for presentation at local and national conferences.
  12. Ensure that individuals and the staff we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights Policy, Intentional Care Standards and Advocates Way.
  13. Attends and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings.
  14. Perform intervention in the event of a crisis
  15. Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
  16. Strictly follow all agency performance standards

Qualifications

  1. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or other related field preferred and minimum of five years’ experience in the mental health field. License eligible in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling preferred.
  2. Demonstrates understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
  3. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team oriented environment and as well as work independently
  4. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  5. Superior public speaking skills, writing skills and ability to conduct workshops and trainings
  6. Superior computer skills
  7. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
  8. Must hold a valid drivers’ license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.
