The Specialty Engagement Clinician will provide trauma informed outpatient services to individuals served in the community.

  • Provide outpatient services in a trauma informed approach that embodies the Advocates Way.
  • Provide flexible supports to meet the needs of the individuals. This includes however, is not limited to the persons home, group home, or clinic setting.
  • Advocate for clients’ needs within the program as well as with external agencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date client records including written evaluations, treatment plans, quarterly reviews, termination summaries and progress notes.
  • Maintain open minded and flexible care models.
  • Provide person served self-management support with a focus on empowering the person and their family to build capacity for self-care.
  • Maintain effective communication with members of the persons identified team to facilitate collaborative care.
  • Attend trainings as assigned; maintain necessary certifications. Remain up to date on the latest practices related to substance use, dual diagnosis and trauma informed care.
  • Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings.
  • Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy.
  • Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
  • Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.



  • Master’s Degree in related field and one year of experience working within an outpatient setting.
  • Ability to work with people in the community
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill, including documentation abilities.
  • Intuitive, client-centered, supportive approach.
  • Ability to thrive in an independent role while offering and receiving team support. 
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and access to an operational and insured vehicle.
  • Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
