    Advocates, a nonprofit human services organization, is seeking a Marketing and Outreach Specialist to join the Marketing and Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, passionate marketing professional looking to make a difference in the community.

    The Marketing and Outreach Specialist works closely with the Marketing and Communications team to coordinate and implement marketing strategies for a range of programs and services that support individuals with disabilities and their families.

    Responsibilities

    1. Coordinate Advocates visibility at conferences, health fairs, and other community events
    2. Represent Advocates programs at relevant conferences, community events, presentations, and meetings
    3. Promote workshops and recreational events for people with disabilities and their families through newsletters, social media, and additional vehicles
    4. Content development and light graphic design for program newsletters, brochures, web pages, emails, flyers, and other marketing vehicles
    5. Coordinate several email newsletters using MailChimp, Bloomerang, or similar email software platform
    6. Develop social media content and leverage social media platforms to support program and agency-wide marketing goals
    7. Coordinate targeted promotional mailings as needed
    8. Maintain and update a portfolio of agency website pages
    9. Track data, metrics, and benchmarks for social media and email marketing to determine effectiveness of marketing strategies
    10. Fulfill requests for marketing kits and materials
    11. Prepare periodic marketing progress reports for agency leadership
    12. Submit invoices and track marketing expenses
    13. Attend and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings
    14. Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights policies
    15. Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
    2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing/communications or public relations; experience in nonprofit or healthcare preferable.
    3. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
    5. Experience with website CMS (Drupal preferred), email marketing software (MailChimp or Bloomerang preferred), Adobe InDesign and Photoshop or Canva, and Google Analytics.
    6. Experience with video editing/production software a plus.
    7. Experience with project management tools (Basecamp, SmartSheet, etc.) a plus.
    8. Demonstrated experience leveraging social medial platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn to support marketing goals.
    9. Able to work evenings and weekends when needed.  
    10. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    11. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
    12. Must work well in team atmosphere as well as independently.
    13. Must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
    14. Ability to maintain professional, pleasant, and helpful demeanor at all times
    15. Ability to read and speak English.
