  • Overview

    Manager of Community Day Supports  is responsible for the administration and management of the Choices program which supports individuals who receive Supported Employment and Community Based Day Supports (CBDS) in both the Autism and traditional day settings.  Manager of Community Day Supports will provide individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities a direct pathway to employment by providing opportunities to participate in job skill training and a variety of community and volunteer based activities and experiences. He/she will ensure a variety of program models and supports are in place to meet the identified needs of individuals across the services while focusing on strategic development and fiscal solvency.

    • Ensure that all program participant’s interests and preferences have been assessed and participants are assisted in achieving their personal goals.
    • Develop measureable outcomes for each participant based upon individual centered planning in all services – employment and community based.
    • Ensure individuals’ goals developed in CBDS services complement and support employment goals.
    • Develop innovative program ideas and alternative therapeutic activities that foster individual’s empowerment and program satisfaction.
    • Provide supervision, mentoring, professional development opportunities as well as training and support to staff regarding job responsibilities, program issues and services.
    • Identify and arrange opportunities for job exploration, situational assessments, internships, or apprenticeships for individuals as required.
    • Assist in the development and administration of program budget and monitor and improve productivity.
    • Ensure all billing is accurately completed and submitted in the required timelines.
    • Ensure all documentation, assessments, reports, and other required paperwork is completed within the Agency established deadlines.
    • Stay current on changing support models to identify best practices and incorporate into the service delivery system.
    • Ensure necessary assessments, implementation strategies and follow up documentation are completed by in a timely manner in accordance with all funding sources requirements and Agency deadlines.
    • Oversee the implementation and development of the service plans, ISP’s and annual reviews to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with the plans.
    • Ensure all confidential files are complete, up-to-date and meet all applicable regulations.
    • Develop effective working partnerships with state agencies, funding sources, community providers, and individuals/families.
    • Assess participant satisfaction through formal assessments and informal feedback. Ensure high-level customer service is maintained.
    • Assist in chairing, facilitating and coordinating program staff and clinical meetings. Other meetings as required
    • Attend trainings as assigned; maintain current necessary certifications (CPR, First Aid, SOLVE, HR/DPPC).
    • Ensure that staff maintains appropriate current certifications and training to perform duties
    • Provide and set a positive team atmosphere.
    • Serve as a member of the Day Program Management Team.
    • Attend and actively participate in program meetings and supervision.
    • Provide supervision, professional growth opportunities and reviews for all assigned staff
    • Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy.
    • Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.
    • Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
    • Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.



    • Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Services field or a related field and at least three years of health-care experience and two years in a program for individuals with developmental disabilities and two years of in a management role.
    • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Must possess strong computer knowledge and to multi-task with frequently changing priorities.
    • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
    • Ability to execute a variety of decision-making models.
    • High energy level, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
    • Must hold a valid drivers’ license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport consumers.
