  • Overview

    The Director of Operations, Developmental & Brain Injury (D & BI) Services, develops and implements operational strategies for the D & BI service lines including the provision of administrative oversight of assigned clinical services, programs and contracts as assigned.  He/she is responsible for service line project management; contract monitoring; budget development, management, and analysis; program development; and compliance.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, manage, streamline and administer the budget for service lines, analyze expenditures and recommend adjustments in collaboration with divisional leadership and the Fiscal Department.
    • Implement program development, policies, procedures and standards of practice, which ensure delivery of quality care and compliance with standards or regulatory agencies.
    • Develop systems and ensure implementation of applicable policy/procedures and state/federal regulations within the Division.
    • Leads assigned contract management functions, including managing all interactions and meetings with contract managers and program staff.
    • Represent the D & BI Services division on committee’s and taskforces as required. 
    • Develop, manage, streamline or eliminate administrative processes and requirements for the Division to insure operational efficiency, clinical integrity and program integrity.
    • Work across divisions and with support departments to assure their involvement in support of the division and that they serve the division needs in a fashion consistent with the overall goals and objectives of the agency.
    • Direct, manage and coordinate projects as assigned including timelines, resources required, schedules and project milestones.
    • Serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders persons served, families and informal supports as needed.
    • Ensure quality management systems are implemented within assigned services.
    • Maintain constructive and productive internal and external communications with staff, managers, providers, vendors, and funding sources.
    • Ensure health and safety of clients and staff through compliance with agency policies, OSHA and other safety standards.
    • Ensure all required documentation and reports are submitted on time in accordance with Agency and department due dates.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in business/finance or related field plus six to ten years’ related experience and/or training. Experience in a non-profit environment required. Experience with Medicaid/MassHealth, state contracts, clinical administration and grant management a plus.
    • Strong business acumen and familiarity with clinical and operational best practices.
    • In-depth working knowledge of business operations, including budgeting and forecasting.
    • Proven administrative and management ability in a complex environment preferably health care or clinical administrative settings.
    • Strong computer knowledge.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
    • High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function independently as well as in a team atmosphere.
    • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
    • Must hold a valid driver's license, have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.
    • Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
