    The Assistant Program Manager is responsible for assisting the Program Manager with all management duties and ensuring the smooth operation of individuals’ services.

    • Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights policy.

    • Assist individuals in Self-Advocacy, decision-making and empowerment and developing person-centered goals and strategies.

    • Develop and monitor creative and interesting community-centered opportunities for all individuals.

    • Schedule and attend individuals’ medical, dental, psychiatric and any other necessary appointments, as needed.

    • Complete documentation of appointments and distribute as appropriate.

    • Monitor scheduling of staff to ensure economy and program coverage.

    • Assist with the supervision of staff and ensure all activities are completed for their shift.

    • Audit individual financial records on a regular basis.

    • Assist with monthly business reports (petty cash, census, weekly spending report).

    • Leads staff meetings in the absence of the Program Manager.

    • Ensure accuracy of medications following Medication Administration Program procedures.

    • Reports all significant issues to the appropriate persons and document issues/incidents according to agency guidelines.


    • High School diploma or equivalent degree and two years’ related experience.

    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, the ability to use good judgment.

    • Must have basic computer knowledge.

    • Must hold a valid driver's license, have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.

    • Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
