    The Employment Consultant is responsible for assisting people in identifying resources available in securing and maintaining employment.  Support includes guiding individuals and their families in placement planning through resource identification and training. The Employment Consultant is responsible for maintaining ongoing verbal and written communication with each individual’s support team, to facilitate pre-employment and employment placement as necessary and to ensure that a whole life focus to services is provided.

    First Shift


    • Complete individual intake interviews and orientation to program services.
    • Assist in developing and implementing pre-employment and employment placement plans for program participants.
    • Work with individuals, families and support teams to identify training and support needs.
    • Identify and share information about potential resources to individuals, families and support teams.
    • Solicit feedback from individuals and adjust support plans as necessary.
    • Support individuals and families in navigating the transition from school settings to pre-employment and employment programs.
    • Maintain open communication regarding program services with individuals, their families, funding source representatives, day program and residential program staff.
    • Maintain individual records as required including timely and thorough completion of all necessary progress reports, billing requirements, and other required documents.
    • Attend and actively participate in program meetings and supervision.


    • Associate’s Degree and 2 years of related experience.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong computer knowledge.
    • High energy level, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to function independently and in a team atmosphere.
    • Must be able to multi-task with frequently changing priorities.
    • Must hold a valid driver's license, and have access to an operational and insured vehicle.
    • Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
