    Overview:

    The Director of Clinical Risk Management identifies clinical risk and develops possible solutions.  He/she oversees all high risk individuals throughout the Behavioral Health Residential service line and serves as a resource to the Directors of Clinical Services and program staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Review all referrals, provide consultation to process and participate in all referrals designated as potential High Risk.
    • Participate in evaluations and consultations of High Risk Individuals as directed by need.
    • Provide guidance and consultation to program staff and Directors of Clinical Services
    • Maintain and monitor the list of all High Risk individuals in the Behavioral Health Residential Service line.
    • Ensure that all MH Division High Risk individuals have Crisis Plans.
    • Facilitate and have oversight of delivery, training and consultation around the Decision Making Team Model (DMT).
    • Integrate Risk Management activities fully into the Quality Improvement process.
    • Proactive and assertive in identifying clinical risk, monitoring treatment plans and identifying possible solutions to clinical quandaries.
    • Proactive and assertive in identifying staff development needs related to risk and responsive with offering increased training and support in need areas.
    • Report on agency clinical risk to the Integrated Clinical Risk Team and the BH Res Quality Improvement Team.
    • Work with program staff and Directors of Clinical Services as a resource to ensure excellent treatment.
    • Maintain required certification in Safety Care and become a Safety Care trainer. Participate as a Safety Care trainer in a rotating schedule throughout the year. 
    • Develop a staff training curriculum geared towards increasing staff skill related to risk assessment; collaborative crisis planning and leadership response after a crisis event.
    • Facilitate group trainings and be responsive to individual or group training needs throughout the service line.
    • Attend and actively participate in all trainings as assigned; supervisions, team meetings and maintain necessary certifications and licenses
    • Take a leadership role within the CISM team; facilitate ongoing trainings, participate in individual and group staff debriefings, offer consultation to team members and across the service line
    • Be available for On Call Consultation to the Clinician On Call 24/7.
    • Assume on call rotation for the Intensive Group Living Environments.

     

     

    Qualifications

    • Clinical License, Master’s degree (M.A.) in social services or other related field and 7 years related experience.
    • Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations
    • High energy level, superior interpersonal skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team
    • Strong computer knowledge.
    • Proven ability to delegate, prioritize, and meet strict deadlines.
    • Proven ability to effectively mentor and manage others.
