Overview

The Residential Supervisor is responsible for overall resident care.  He/she serves as a supervisor of the Direct Care Staff. The Residential Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the schedules, appointments and activities of the program participants as well as the daily operations of the house.  The Residential Supervisor will coordinate with Direct Care Staff as it pertains to resident documentation and paperwork and will coordinate with the families as needed.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with program participants to identify goals and objectives; assist with writing service plans and ensure implementation and follow through.
  • Oversee program participants’ safety and fire safety procedures to include: fire drills, training of staff and residents, oversight of Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) and Emergency Evacuation Plan.
  • Develop and monitor staff scheduling to ensure program coverage and budgetary compliance.
  • Responsible for supervision of all Direct Care Staff.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure adequate program participant supplies and house maintenance.
  • Oversee medication management implementation for program participants in collaboration with the Program Nurse.
  • Develop program participants’ behavioral plans, crisis management plans, and risk assessments, in conjunction with clinical team.
  • Assist with management of program finances, including petty cash and resident cash.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field and 3 years experience; or Associates degree in same with five years experience in health/human services preferred.  Five years experience in a management or clinical position which includes supervision of staff may be substituted for educational experience. 
  • Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
  • Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read and write fluent English.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.
  • Must hold a valid drivers’ license.  Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport individuals.  Ability to operate agency vehicles.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, plan and complete tasks independently.
