The Program Aid is responsible for assisting with implementation of daily treatment schedules and assisting individuals with personal needs care.  The Program Aid will promote individual advocacy, empowerment, and community integration.

Responsibilities

  • treatment for program individuals in conjunction with their needs.
  • Assist individuals with arrival to program and departure from program.
  • Assist individuals in toileting and hygiene/clothing management after toileting.  Includes using proper body mechanics to insure safety during transfers, and setting up workable toileting schedule or arranging toileting times with individual consumers to assure a smooth integration with the daily schedule.
  • Assist individuals in daily break and lunch programs including set-up, feed and cleanup of area.
  • Assist team members in implementation and supervision of group and individual session when needed.
  • Assist with wheelchair mobility and personal needs during community activities.
  • Assist team members in maintaining accurate data for their assigned individual schedule as well as daily progress notes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working with program population preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and ability to use good judgment.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the individuals we support.
  • High energy level and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license, have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.
  • Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
