Salary $50,000-$58,000

The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely billing of contracts, including cost reimbursement contracts, and other fiscal analysis.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and invoice cost reimbursement and unit rate contracts for both state and federally funded programs.
  2. Prepare and invoice non-state contracts with affiliates and revenue sources.
  3. Follow proper invoicing and billing procedures as designated by each contract’s varying requirements.
  4. Calculate and invoice service fees and reimbursements due from individuals supported.
  5. Apply cash deposits and applications, credit/debit memos as required.
  6. Investigate billing issues.
  7. Respond to Adhoc requests for information.
  8. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings.
  9. Process and maintain food stamp (SNAP) applications for group home clients.
  10. Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy.
  11. Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
  12. Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.

Qualifications

  1. B.A. and 2 + years accounting experience, preferably with receivables in non-profit, human services and/or health care environment is preferred.
  2. Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
  3. Strong Excel spreadsheet application and PC skills.
  4. Proficiency in accounting software applications (experience with Solomon a plus).
  5. Meticulous attention to detail; timeliness and accuracy.
  6. Ability to communicate articulately and knowledgeably with all levels of internal staff and external parties as required.
  7. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  8. Must be well-organized, willing to learn and take initiative.
  9. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a team environment.
  10. Must demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and follow assignments through to completion
