Overview

 

The Training & Development Business Partner, Behavioral Health Residential Services is responsible for the creation and management of trainings within the Behavioral Health Residential Services division. They assess training needs and develop new trainings to meet the needs of the division. 

 

This is a hybrid position requiring 3-4 days per week in office, with occassional weeks requiring a full 5 days in office. The schedule is Monday through Friday 9am-5pm.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain training calendar for the service line. Schedule and coordinate facilitators, locations, and topics for trainings. Facilitate and co-facilitate service line specific trainings.
  2. Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate a monthly New Hire Orientation for the service line.
  3. Manage and develop overall implementation of new and ongoing training and development initiatives/programs based on divisional needs.
  4. Provide summary reports to service line management team, determine impact of training to program staff, and establish future training needs/goals.
  5. Serve as Intentional Care trainer. Facilitate Intentional Care workshops at Advocates, local, regional, and national conferences; train persons served and peer specialists to become Intentional Care trainers; represent the organization with regards to Intentional Care for consultation from outside agencies.
  6. Serve as Safety Care and CPR trainer for the agency.
  7. Meet with the service line VP at least monthly to report on training initiatives and review division needs.
  8. Participate in needs analysis for developing training strategies, track and evaluate training performance.
  9. Mentor managers, direct support staff and people we support to become trainers.
  10. Write and facilitate workshop proposals for presentation at local and national conferences.
  11. Link persons served and staff of the BH Residential Services to training opportunities related to recovery and psychiatric rehabilitation.
  12. Ensure all training related activities are within authorized budgets.
  13. Attend all divisional leadership meetings and Advocates committees as required.
  14. Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights Policy, Intentional Care Standards and Advocates Way.
  15. Attends and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings.
  16. Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
  17. Strictly follow all agency performance standards.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in the mental health field required. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or other related field and minimum of three years’ experience in the mental health field preferred.
  2. Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
  3. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team oriented environment and as well as work independently
  4. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  5. Superior public speaking skills, writing skills and ability to conduct workshops and trainings
  6. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  7. Must have strong computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office- PowerPoint and Excel required. Proficiency with SmartSheet preferred.
  8. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
  9. Must hold a valid drivers’ license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.
