The Training Specialist I is responsible for providing assistance to employees, facilitators and vendors at the Westboro Training Center; preparing for training sessions; office supply management; processing trainings and certifications; and training employees in crisis prevention training.

 

Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30, on-site.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide on-site support at the Westboro Training Center, including room and training session preparation, greeting employees, and assisting trainers with training materials and A/V needs
  2. Monitor office & training supplies at the Center and communicate inventory needs to Training Manager.
  3. Serve as an internal facilitator for crisis prevention training 
  4. Schedule interpreters for required trainings.
  5. Review monthly training calendars, input training sessions into LMS, and communicate available trainings to employees via email. 
  6. Process enrollment requests and communicate course confirmations.
  7. Monitor the Training email inbox daily and process all inquires and requests.
  8. Provide assistance to employees, facilitators and vendors inquiring about training and development services available.
  9. Process training classes on external vendor sites, as needed, to obtain employee certificates.
  10. Process training packets and update employee transcripts in LMS, including upload of employee certificates.
  11. Monitor and update online trainings and training registration.
  12. Develop promotional material for offered trainings.
  13. Maintain Training page of internal website.
  14. Prepare and distribute monthly reports on upcoming employee certification expiration dates.
  15. Serve as a member of the Training Collaboration group.
  16. Work with the Training and Development Manager to meet the training needs of supervisors and staff through the creative deployment, enhancement, facilitation and evaluation of training programs and materials to reflect company goals and philosophy.   
  17. Monitor training equipment used in the delivery of agency wide trainings including ordering, scheduling and following up on returns. 
  18. Maintain required certification to train in crisis management. 
  19. Monitor all trainers required certifications.
  20. Support the Human Resource Department in other areas as needed.
  21. Attends and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings.
  22. Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.
  23. Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights Policy.
  24. Perform all duties in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  25. Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or GED, AA/AS or higher preferred
  2. 2 years experience in training or an administrative role. Experience presenting to groups preferred.
  3. Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
  4. Must have excellent presentation skills.
  5. Must have strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office- PowerPoint and Excel required.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  7. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  8. Must possess ability to multi-task in fast paced environment and maintain a professional level of customer service at all times.
  9. Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  10. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  11. Must hold a valid drivers’ license and have access to an operational and insured vehicle.
