Starting Rate: $25/hour

The Manager of Autism Day is responsible for the services which supports individuals with ASD who receive Day Habilitation services.  He/she will support a team to provide opportunities to engage in a variety of therapeutic and recreational services, as well as community and volunteer-based activities and experiences. He/she will provide training and support the employment team, overall program development and implementation of autism day habilitation services.  The Manager also assumes overall responsibility for ensuring active daily services and full compliance with all Masshealth and DDS regulations as outlined.

• Ensure that all program participant’s interests, and preferences have been assessed and participants are assisted in achieving their goals.
• Develop innovative program ideas and alternative therapeutic activities that foster empowerment and program satisfaction.
• Ensure continuous quality improvement of programs and services with both internal and community resources. 
• Assist in participant intake and discharge procedures.
• Coordinate and ensure carryover of therapeutic, nursing, and clinical recommendations into daily programming.
• Ensure and provide daily living services/personal care during programming as needed.
• Ensure oversight, implementation, and training of all clinical/behavior programming under the leadership and direction of the Clinical Director.
• Oversee the implementation and development of the annual review process to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with regulations.
• Maintain oversight and coordination of case management services and Day Habilitation services for all program participants ensuring all documentation deadlines are met and appropriate services are provided.
• Ensure individual treatment and service coordination service needs are met as outlined in both Masshealth and DDS regulations.
• Maintain individual records as required including timely and thorough completion of all necessary program assessments, progress reports, and other required documents per agency timelines.
• Ensure all billing is accurately completed and submitted in the required timelines.
• Attend and actively participate in program meetings and supervision.
• Provide and set a positive team atmosphere
• Assist team members with the development of teaching curriculums designed to promote individual growth and increased independence within day services.

• Develop effective working partnerships and maintain open lines of communication with all referral sources to include, DDS, MRC, public schools, nursing homes, individuals supported, families, community programs and administrative team.
• Provide ongoing case management training to staff in teaching skills, assessment writing, behavior management, annual review, data collection and other case management responsibilities. 
• Provide supervision, mentoring and professional development opportunities for all team members, while ensuring hands on training, modeling, and support regarding job responsibilities, program and client services.
• Serve as a member of the Day Program Management Team.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Human/Social Services field or a related field (psych, special ed or education) with at least two years of health-care and one year management experience, or in lieu of a degree at least three years employed working with those with developmental disabilities and one year in a management role. 
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations
• Must possess strong computer knowledge.
• Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
• Ability to execute a variety of decision-making models.
