$3,000 for Clinicians

$4000 for Clinicians

that are either Bilingual or hold an LICSW

*Starting salary 73,000*

 

The Mental Health Clinician conducts assessments and provides therapy to all inmates residing in the mental health day treatment program at the Worcester County House of Corrections.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide individual and group therapy to inmates who have been diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness
  2. Respond to crisis calls from jail staff and/or family members
  3. Maintain necessary documentation to include assessments, therapy notes, file notes, and treatment plans. Completing documentation in a timely manner.
  4. Ensure compliance with all statutes, regulations and contractual requirements related to mental health care and substance use treatment within the jail.
  5. Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings
  6. Attend trainings as assigned
  7. Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures
  8. Adhere to all Advocates Way principles

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or related counseling field
  • License-eligible in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling; current independent license is preferred
  • Must have working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the population.
  • Ability to thrive in team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Outstanding reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must pass all background checks as required for position.
