Overview

$20-$24/hour

$5,000 sign-on bonus

The Billing Coordinator is responsible for the accounts receivable function from invoicing, to receivables and collection for Advocates Community Counseling. 

 

This is a hybrid role and will require 3-4 days of in person training at our Framingham location for the first 6-12 months of employment. Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform insurance verifications for new and ongoing clients insuring that all necessary forms and documents have been completed for billing process.
  2. Communicate with clinical staff regarding client billing issues, insurance specifications, and prior approval requirement.
  3. Submit necessary documentation to insurance carriers for reimbursement daily and as needed.
  4. Prepare all documentation for recording and submitting third party claims.
  5. Follow up and resolve issues regarding claim denials.
  6. Review aged trial balance on a monthly basis to perform collection activities that include, client and insurance phone calls.
  7. Monitor current insurance requirements, regulations, and maintain updated library.
  8. Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy.
  9. Attendance at staff meetings.
  10. Perform all duties in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  11. Perform inquiries, obtain and track referrals and authorizations for various insurance plans.
  12. Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.

Qualifications

  1. Must have a high school diploma.
  2. Preferred two years experience in third party billing, including automated billing systems, knowledge of insurance carrier regulations, policies and procedures, collections and overall accounts receivable management.
  3. Knowledge of billing software and third party reimbursement procedures.
  4. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  5. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
  6. Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  7. Ability multitask in a busy office environment.
