The 1:1 Direct Care Staff for Individual Supports will provide person-centered support and supervision in and around the home

High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

Provide person-centered support and supervision in and around the home. Specific activities include ADL support and implementing meaningful activities to support independence in ADL tasks. Specific activities that the individual may like to participate in include:

  • Wellness activities such as walks in the neighborhood
  • Listening to music and watching movies, arts & crafts
  • Basic housekeeping (dusting, folding)
  • Baking
  • Playing board games, cards, or like activities
  • General food preparation

 

In addition, staff must be creative in working with the individual to identify other recreational activities to conduct in the home.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree.  Experience working with the population preferred!
  • Excellent interpersonal, judgement and coaching skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize basic computer applications.
  • Desire to thrive in a fast-paced, client-centered, team-oriented environment.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license, have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.
  • Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
